September 1, 2025 - Day #225
Trump And His Cronies Said They’d Do This, But Then Instead They Did This
President Trump said he’d do this:
Trump’s social media posts about Mexico paying for the southern border wall:
September 1, 2016 @ 12:58 AM ET on Trump’s X account— Mexico will pay for the wall - 100%!
September 1, 2016 @ 6:31 AM ET, again on Trump’s X account — Mexico will pay for the wall!
And then on January 6, 2017 @ 11:13 AM ET on Trump’s X account — The dishonest media is not reporting that any money spent, for the sake if speed, on building the Great Wall, will be paid back by Mexico.
And again on August 27, 2017 @ 9:44 AM ET on Trump’s X account — With Mexico being one of the highest crime Nations in the world, we must have THE WALL. Mexico will pay for it through reimbursement/other.
And then Trump did this:
Mexico didn’t and hasn’t paid for any of the US southern border wall and more recently, on July 4th, 2025, Trump signed into law his One Big Beautiful Bill which included $46.5 billion to complete the border wall, all of which will be funded by US Taxpayers.
Pam Bondi said this:
During her mid January, 2025 confirmation hearing for US Attorney General, when asked directly, Pam Bondi said this about going after Trump’s political adversaries:
“The partisanship, the weaponization will be gone. America will have one tier of justice for all…… There will never be an enemies list within the Department of Justice.”
And then Pam Bondi did this:
From an August 6, 2025 report from NPR:
Steve Inskeep: “Attorney General Pam Bondi has reportedly launched a grand jury investigation into the Obama administration for its handling of the decade-old probe of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.”
Subsequently, President Trump had this to say about Bondi’s work: Pam is doing a great job. I have nothing to do with it. I will tell you this, they deserve it. I was happy to hear it. I actually read it just like you did. I have nothing to do with it.
Continuing the NPR report: Bondi's really been putting into action Trump's promise of retribution. She fired January 6 prosecutors. Prosecutors who worked with special counsel Jack Smith who had brought charges against Trump. And she went after a federal judge who was seen as unfriendly toward the administration. Doesn't much sound like Bondi's pledge at her confirmation hearing to be an independent attorney general and remove politics from the Justice Department.
R F Kennedy Jr said this:
From a January report by Politico: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. opened his confirmation hearings to lead the Department of Health and Human Services by going on the offense, saying he is not anti-vaccine…….
“News reports have claimed that I’m anti-vaccine or anti-industry,” he said. “I am neither.”
And then Kennedy did this:
In June 2025, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. fired the entire 17-member Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the CDC's main vaccine advisory panel. Kennedy cited a need to restore public trust and remove members he claimed had conflicts of interest and rubber-stamped industry agendas. He replaced the ousted members with a new group, which includes several vaccine skeptics, drawing criticism from former members and public health organizations who warned the decision abandons scientific rigor and could undermine vaccine policy.
President Trump said this:
March 21, 2025 @ 10:06 AM ET — WE WANT VIOLENT CRIMINALS OUT OF OUR COUNTRY!
July 29, 2025 @ 6:58 PM ET — Our Brave ICE Law Enforcement Agents are getting the WORST of the WORST Criminals out of our Country — Terrorists, pedophiles, MS-13 gang members, murderers, rapists, drug and human traffickers. They’re getting these SLEAZEBAGS, the SCUM of the Earth that Crooked Joe Biden let in, OUT OF HERE, and getting them out, FAST……..
And then Trump did this:
Associated Press headline from July:
Trump says he wants to deport ‘the worst of the worst.’ Government data tells another story
The report continues:
There has been an increase of arrests by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement since Trump began his second term, with reports of raids across the country. Yet the majority of people currently detained by ICE have no criminal convictions. Of those who do, relatively few have been convicted of high-level crimes — a stark contrast to the chilling nightmare Trump describes to support his border security agenda.
The above is just a tiny sampling of the many promises made by President Trump and members of his administrations who then did oppositely what was promised. This from an administration who has time and again made note of its own transparency.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on FOX’s Jesse Watters: “This is the most accessible and transparent administration in history.”
During a February 25 press briefing Leavitt again praised the administration’s transparency while refusing to answer the question about who specifically was the DOGE administrator.
Karoline Leavitt said this:
When asked who the administrator of DOGE was, Leavitt said: “I am happy to follow up and provide that to you, but we have been incredibly transparent about the way that DOGE is working.”
And then Leavitt said this:
“There are career officials at DOGE. There are political appointees at DOGE. I am not going to reveal the name of that individual from this podium.”
Hmmmmm………. ‘nough said then.
